Representation 11238 on BMSDC Joint Local Plan Consultation Document (Interactive) by Anne Hately

Support / Object: OBJECT
Document Link: BMSDC Joint Local Plan Consultation Document (Interactive) - Glemsford
Representation: To build so many more houses in a village that has poor infrastructure, roads that cannot sustain the amount of traffic, a huge problem with parking which is potentially dangerous, no facilities and no employment seems to be very short sited.

The current sewage system will not be able to withstand any more pressure. The local school is full to capacity and the doctors surgery also struggles.

Surely farmland should remain farmland, especially when everybody is constantly talking about our carbon footprint, we should be growing crops etc for our own consumption and importing as little as possible.
Complies with the duty to Co-operate?Yes

Glemsford is a village and as such should have a sense of community, unfortunately whereas a few years ago there were several large employers in the village there is now very little employment. The recent housing developments in Glemsford have attracted people from outside of the area who retire here or people who commute to work. This has increased the property prices and made it even more difficult for the local young people to get on the housing ladder which is very concerning.

To build so many more houses in a village that has poor infrastructure, roads that cannot sustain the amount of traffic, a huge problem with parking which is potentially dangerous, no facilities and no employment seems to be very short sited. Living in Brook Street we regularly have the pleasure of the smell from the sewers in the back garden.
