I would like the focus to be on the Town Centre, we have a huge number of houses being built all around the town and very few of those people come into the Town Centre as there is very little to attract them. I would pedestrianise the town Centre, encourage a café culture with a cultural zone, have 45mins free parking at the Mid Suffolk controlled parking to allow people to run to the bank etc, introduce lots more greenery and open air activities. Improve the Regal, it is a fantastic asset but it has reached the limit of its potential in terms of attracting younger audiences without more screens/newer films. Create better links between the housing estates and the town Centre - more cycle tracks. Encourage, more independent shops and restaurants, help the ones we have to "get a make over". Limit the number of Charity shops on the High Street - charge them business rates.
Make better use of Brownfield sites - within the town there are lots of dilapidated buildings, encourage more sustainable development rather than greenfield.
We have very few sports facilities within the town - if there was more facilities in the town, this would encourage people in.
