The Ipswich Economic Area Sector Needs Assessment Final Report September 2017 states that employment growth in Mid Suffolk in the period 2001-2016 was 1.6%. It identifies growth area at Martlesham and Sizewell, not areas to the west of Ipswich.
One of the areas for the potential of location of economic growth with Mid Suffolk is the former airfield (circa 51 ha) at Eye. The potential of this area is not sufficiently reflected in the consultation. All the civil parish areas require a range of additional housing to maintain the social diversity within each community and to prove a pool of potential labour should the withdrawal from the European Union create significant gaps in the labour market.
