|Representation:||Please protect the 'Area of Local landscape Sensitivity' and retain at least some of the extended views over the 'Undulating Ancient Farmland'.|
Lawshall village is made up of a series of fragmented hamlets interspersed with small greens, hedged fields, community and ancient woodlands which all provide areas of wildlife diversity. The character assessment of 'Undulating Ancient Farmland' is also important for its ancient and diverse hedgerows of considerable landscape and wildlife value. This landscape can be viewed from the many 'gaps' in the settlements and some of these views should be retained rather than over-developed in the absence of a Babergh 5 year housing plan. While Frithy Wood and environs are designated as a 'Special Landscape Area' there are other special views of the undulating and hedged parish that should be protected. However, at the very least Lawshall's 'Area of Local Landscape Sensitivity' should be upheld to protect the sensitive and special qualities of that area.
