Representation 3674 on BMSDC Joint Local Plan Consultation Document (Interactive) by Mr Neil Lister

Support / Object: SUPPORT
Document Link: BMSDC Joint Local Plan Consultation Document (Interactive) - HOUSING, Rural growth and development, Q27
Representation: Development in countryside/rural areas should be welcomed and possible if new development and indeed entire new villages bring quality landscape and building standards. ID villages/hamlets where small scale, sensitive development will be allowed to help meet local demand. Allow sensitive re-use of existing traditional buildings, essential agricultural workers dwellings.

Encourage and support occupation and working of small landholdings, tenanted or owner occupied, especially those with a social inclusion/educational element. The high costs of land and rural housing make it near impossible for new entrants to establish a rural land based business. Affordable/secure smallholdings address this.
