Representation: My main concern is traffic. All the roads leading into the village are narrow country roads. Parked cars are a danger. Next concern is infrastructure - the school cannot accommodate all the extra children. We don't have enough doctors now for the number of residents so how are they going to take on another 3,000 patients. Parking at the doctors is crazy now.
I feel it will no longer feel like a small village location but a small town not what we want since we have lived here very happy for 30 yrs. Village is already experiencing bad planning decisions.

Dear Sir/Madam

I would like to share my concerns about the amount of houses being planned for Our little village of Glemsford. My main concern is traffic. All the roads leading into the village are narrow country roads, Skate hill is a nightmare with so many parked cars on the road the traffic flow is a joke. For buses and large lorries its really hard to get past all the parked cars. Hobbs Lane which which is going to be the main road which accesses all three planned building sites is narrow & is subsiding & has been left like this for about 3 yrs with a few traffic cones stuck there to worn drivers, these have now been obscured by undergrowth because they' ve been there so long. ( typical council!!!) When larger vehicles are passing the subsided part of Hobbs lane the on coming vehicles have to give way so this is going to work really well with an estimated 2,000 more cars traveling in and out of the village. Also come the winter months Hobbs lane just becomes full of pot holes. I know loads of residents who have had damaged tires because of hitting a large pot hole in the dark! Again down to you guys! This is also going to be made worse with all the large building lorries cranes etc which are going to be up and down Hobbs lane while the houses are being built. All these big plans but you can't even maintain the road properly now without all the extra traffic, all this building in Suffolk, is going to generate.
My next concern is infrastructure i.e. Doctors, school etc. No way is our primary school big enough to accommodate all the extra children these house will bring in. If another school is going to be built, it worries me how this will work. Our school is excellent with a great reputation now in the area therefore lots of parents from surrounding villages are sending there children to Glemsford. If the new school isn't so good there is going to be a lot of bad feeling in Glemsford by parents who have been brought up in the village but who's children may not get a place at the present school. The doctors surgery is another concern as its not easy now to get an appointment. We don't have enough doctors now for the number of residents so how are they going to take on another 3,000 patients?? Also the parking at the doctors even now is crazy, people turning up for appointment & there is no where to park so they literally leave their cars anywhere, very dangerous.
I live at the Pippins so will be directly affected by the building of the Park Lane estate. It's so peaceful where we live and I am concerned about all the extra noise the new estate will inevitably create. I feel it will no longer feel like a small village location but a small town not what we want since we have lived here very happy for 30 yrs.
In the village we are already experiencing bad planning decisions by yourselves i.e. Building on Crownfield Rd. Estate and then putting another estate long the road leading into Brooke street. How could so many houses be aloud up Crownfield when the only access is from Brooke Street, which is a very narrow road made worse because it always has parked cars on one side so is actually single file all the time. Now when pulling out of Crownfield Rd to head into the village you can not see past the parked cars so cars pull out then have to reverse back because a car is coming and then on top of that you have cars pulling out of new estate. Seriously what do you guys get paid for? No wonder we are all so concerned how these new builds are going to affect us all in Glemsford.

Yours sincerely
Suzanne Sparke
