COMMENT Historic England (Katie Parsons)
Number of designated heritage assets in Westhorpe which could be impacted upon by development. Assets include Grade I Church of St Margaret, Grade II* Rookery Farmhouse, and several Grade II listed buildings and structures. Settlement contains Westhorpe Hall moated site and associated fishponds which is a scheduled monument. Moathill barn a scheduled monument to the north of the settlement. presence of these heritage assets and their settings should therefore be considered carefully as part of the allocation process. Presence of the scheduled monuments may indicate further archaeological potential on the surrounding landscape, it is important that potential non-designated or unknown archaeological heritage is also considered.
OBJECT Westhorpe Parish Council (Ms Camilla Kennedy)
Westhorpe Parish Council consider SS0735 and SS0084 to be larger than reasonably expected in the countryside (we're not a hamlet). It isn't infilling, but back development on greenfield sites.
