Representations on BMSDC Joint Local Plan Consultation Document (Interactive) - SS0958 - Land to the east of Heath Road,
COMMENT Historic England (Katie Parsons)
Woolpit has a number of highly significant designated heritage assets including the Grade I listed Church of St Mary and Lady's Well scheduled monument, the historic core of the town also benefits from conservation area designation. Sites SS0958, S0070, SS0328*, SS0670 are immediately adjacent to the scheduled monument. The presence of these heritage assets and their settings should therefore be considered carefully as part of the site allocation process.
OBJECT Professor Robert Turner & Mrs J.M. Turner
The loss of this field and the view it gives of the church and the centre of
the village would be tragic.
OBJECT Woolpit Parish Council (Mrs Peggy Fuller)
This site is within the Conservation Area and any housing development would need to enhance the Conservation Area. Woolpit Parish Council opposes the site for the loss of the open view of the Grade 1 Listed Church and the open vista at the approach to the village
