Summary:

Site not appropriate for development
The site assessment summary notes appropriate considerations to factor into any decision (highways, landscape, heritage and allotment relocation). However, the District Councils should be in no doubt that any proposed development of a special landscape area, which also results in a loss of amenity and potentially significant negative social and economic impacts on the existing local community, is deeply objectionable.

OBJECT Mr Bryan Fawcett

Summary:

Any proposed development of a special landscape area, which also results in a loss of amenity and potentially significant negative social and economic impacts on the existing local community, is deeply objectionable. This site sits on one of the busiest junctions in Suffolk and in an area of high air pollution due to the over use of the roads in the village as a means to cut through to Hadleigh and the A14.. It is a proposed development on a site of the village allotments, an amenity used by the village for recreational purposes, key in bringing together a diverse range of community for a joint purpose. Loss of this valuable area will be to the detriment of the village as a whole in terms of the loss of sense of community, the loss of a landscape key to the character of the village and loss of the rural identity of the location.

OBJECT Hopkins Homes Ltd represented by Armstrong Rigg Planning (Mr Geoff Armstrong)

Summary:

Site is significantly hindered by the fact that most of it comprises well-stocked and fully attended allotment land. For this site to come forward with a comprehensive development the replacement of the allotments would be a pre-requisite. This casts doubt over its deliverability unless it can be presented as part of a joined-up strategy including the replacement of this community resource, most suitably with the backing of the Parish Council.

However, the District Councils should be in no doubt that any proposed development of a special landscape area, which also results in a loss of amenity and potentially significant negative social and economic impacts on the existing local community, is deeply objectionable.
This site is opposite our house, and I would be concerned about the increase in traffic to the area which is already congested. This would spoil our outlook and privacy.

OBJECT Mrs Hannah Lord-Vince

Summary:

Site not appropriate for development.
Appropriate considerations to factor into any decision regarding potential for land development should be: highways, landscape, heritage and allotment relocation. However, the District Councils should be in no doubt that any proposed development of a special landscape area (currently allotments), which also results in a loss of amenity and potentially significant negative social and economic impacts on the existing local community, is deeply objectionable.
In addition, this site is opposite our house and would decrease value due to spoiling unique position and outlook on the edge of village.

Representation ID: 7920

OBJECT Mr Simon Wood

Summary:

This land is at present used as allotments.
Indeed, Hopkins homes are using this land to justify green open space and leisure area as they apply for planning permission on other sites.
The access would either be onto the B113 which will impact severely on the over used Wild Man junction or onto Burstall hill which would just be ridiculous.
The local school is over subscribed.
Local services are struggling.
Existing infrastructure does not support this.

Representation ID: 7283

OBJECT Tessa Earey

Summary:

This site is unsuitable for development.
It is situated on the borders of a very small lane leading to an extremely busy junction at the Wild Man in Sproughton and the additional traffic associated with the development would cause unacceptable traffic congestion, air and noise pollution and have adverse effects on local residents by removing amenities such as the allotments. The village school can not accommodate any additional children associated with this development.

OBJECT Mrs Donna Solker

Summary:

Is this part of Hope farm? I walk here most days and it was one of the reasons I moved to the village. Isn't this a public footpath? Please don't spoil everything around our village. Spread your plans out over the district. Of course we are all going to object because of the scale of your plan. We are not part of Ipswich. If residents wanted to be part of Ipswich we would have moved there. Please have some consideration and save this lovely walking route.

OBJECT Mr Albert Horn

Summary:

Parish Plan states the need for a break Sproughton & Bramford and the need to maintain the view across the village towards the church spire from the B1113 - the only view of its type in the village from the roads. Development of SS0121 along the B1113 would join us up with Sproughton, especially if you consider the sites SS0711 and SS0223, which would extend Sproughton along the same road towards us in the opposite direction. Historically Runcton was a separate hamlet between Sproughton and Bramford and I feel that it should provide a 'windbreak' on development along the B1113 in either direction.
