Representations on BMSDC Joint Local Plan Consultation Document (Interactive) - Aldham
SUPPORT Mr David Turner represented by Lacy Scott & Knight (Mr. Alex Turner)
The site is identified as potentially suitable for development. The site abuts the existing settlement boundary to the east and west forming infill land. The site is available for development now, subject to planning approval. The site can be delivered within a 0-5 year timeframe to address the immediate housing land supply shortfall.
OBJECT Aldham Parish Council (Mr Jonathan Ralph)
Road access is currently unsuitable for any increase in traffic.
Current utility services are already under-performing or at risk and will be more vulnerable as additional development occurs.
Aldham, including Aldham Tye, consists of a number of houses scattered in a wide area. Any additional building - particularly ribbon development along existing roads - will need to be tightly restricted to avoid material and permanent change to the existing "feel" of the landscape.
COMMENT John & Lilian Bray
This part of the field is subject to regular flooding from rain and poor drainage.
UK Power Network has a pole, a transformer and high voltage electricity cables crossing this area.
Having only 5 houses on this site would allow the occupants to enjoy a similar amenity as the other householders along The Street, viz., an uninterrupted view up the field to woodland beyond.
Any more than 5 houses would have a detrimental affect on the peace and quiet we now enjoy with inevitable noise and disturbance associated with an estate of houses, viz., from vehicles, lawnmowers, dogs, chemical and light pollution.
