Representations on BMSDC Joint Local Plan Consultation Document (Interactive) - SS0806 - Land north east of Mill Hill

Representation ID: 10212

COMMENT Historic England (Katie Parsons)

There are number of listed
buildings within Cotton including the grade I listed Church of St Andrew along with
several other grade II listed buildings. It is a relatively large site set away from the
listed buildings within the existing settlement but development of the site could
impact upon the setting of the Grade I listed church. Development of the site should
reflect the historic form and character of the existing settlement. The presence of
these heritage assets and their settings should be considered carefully as part of the
site allocation process.

OBJECT Cotton Parish Council (Mr Rod Caird) represented by Mr Rod Caird

Following the public consultations on other sites including SS0806, we would not seek to allocate this site, as SS0806 has a number of issues including impact on drainage given its topography and history of local flooding. All other potential sites had less than strong support, and had public expressions of wanting to preserve.
