Representations on BMSDC Joint Local Plan Consultation Document (Interactive) - SS0126 - Land north of Ashfield Road, Norton
SUPPORT Mrs Kirsten Fullam
We will loose the feel of the small hamlets within the village.
The roads are busy, dangerous, tight and sometimes not wide enough for two vehicles - especially in poor visibility
The local (very good) school is overstretched with high numbers of 4-11 year olds and not enough room/facilities
Broadband within the village is poor and fibre in only available to half the village.
Development is inappropriate and unnecessary - the villagers identified in their Parish plan we only need small developments of affordable homes.
SUPPORT Mr Rob Southgate
A proposed ribbon development along the road frontage here would be ideal to link the parts of the village at Horseshoes and Prospect road to the centre of the village. It could provide a footpath which is much needed for those walking their children to school and potentially street lighting for safety. A development here would greatly assist those living to the East side of the village and provide better access to the school, village hall, pub and garage all great assets of the village which should be accessible to all.
SUPPORT Mr Derek Fisher
Support site being listed as not suitable for development
Any additional housing along The Street/Ashfield Road, Norton will only increase the existing severe congestion near to the primary school, at the cross-roads and on the two right-angle bends in Norton Little Green.
